Artist's Comments

Herakles (AKA "Hercules" - -the Romanized version of the name). This was a private commission, in pen and ink and wash, but I did make a good photocopy on board before adding the gray tones, so I might do a colored version someday.

The medallions feature "The Twelve Labors of Herakles", drawn in a style intended to resemble ancient Greek vase paintings.

Thank You! I'm actually working on a color version of this right now, painting on a photocopy made before filling in the black areas and painting gray tones and mailing off the original.
